The Lovers' Walk
The Lovers' Walk is a path immersed in fantastic natural elements that extends between Rapallo and Portofino, winding through villages and offering wonderful views of the sea.
It starts from the Castle on the Rapallo seafront and, crossing the port, continues to reach San Michele di Pagana, a charming bay in the Portofino Protected Marine Area. The walk continues and you arrive in the enchanting town of Santa Margherita Ligure, where you can take a break for refreshments. Breathtaking panoramas will lead you to the enchanted Bay of Paraggi from which, through the woods with a sea view, you reach the village of Portofino and its renowned Piazzetta (small square).
Given the ever-mild climate, the walk can be done in any season and does not involve any cost. The path is easy and also suitable for those who are not trained; it is about 8.5 km long and takes an average of two and a half hours to complete.

Portofino: Fun and History
A characteristic fishing village, with colorful houses huddled around the small harbor and the famous Piazzetta, Portofino is known worldwide for its exclusive vacations, its yachts, and the VIPs who come from all over the world.
But Portofino is not just for VIPs; there are many attractions in the village: in addition to the wonderful restaurants and nightlife, we find several sites of historical and archaeological interest. Among these, we mention the Church of San Martino and the Church of San Giorgio (12th century), reachable with a walk that leads to the promontory of Portofino. Continuing on, you will encounter Castello Brown (16th century), an ancient military fortress immersed in a splendid hanging garden, and the Punta di Capo Lighthouse (Punta Portofino), which dominates the entire bay.
The beach of Portofino is located in Paraggi, not far from the center, an enchanting bay much appreciated by VIPs. The Christ of the Abyss, a bronze statue located on the seabed of the bay of San Fruttuoso at a depth of 17 meters, attracts many visits from divers.
The charm of these places, the excellent cuisine of Liguria, and the many cultural and naturalistic itineraries make this corner of the Gulf of Tigullio an ideal destination in all periods of the year, although most tourists appreciate it especially during the summer months, when the lush nature and the warm sea waters make Portofino a corner of paradise.
